Some students from the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo have attended the NKA seminar and Dan level gradings at the Freshwater Community Centre in in Placentia Bay Newfoundland and Labrador on August 6, 2011. The seminar and gradings were conducted by NKA senior instructors up to 6th Degree Black Belt. All students were enlightened by receiving this caliber of instruction. Many Black Belt students were raised to the next Dan level.

Bruce Lee Sensei, Sixth Degree Black Belt, conducted a seminar at the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo on June 25, 2011. Emphasis was placed on real-world self defense. The students were highly enlightened by Bruce Lee Sensei's great wisdom and knowledge of Shotokan Karate. Following the seminar the St. Jones Within Community Centre offered a moose burger barbeque and then a social at Sensei Kevin Price's residence.

NKA Member at Seminar:

Some students from the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo have attended the NKA seminar at the Freshwater Community Centre in in Placentia Bay Newfoundland and Labrador on June 4, 2011. The seminar was conducted by NKA senior instructors up to 6th Degree Black Belt. Our students came away from the seminar with their skills fine tuned in a way that can only be acquired by receiving this caliber of instruction.

Wayne Lee Sensei Seminar and Grading:

Wayne Lee Sensei, Sixth Degree Black Belt, conducted a seminar and grading at the Trinity Shotokan karate Dojo on January 22, 2011. Our Karateka were very enlightened by Wayne Lee Sensei when he shared his great wisdom with them. The gradings were challenging to our karateka and they felt great acheivement in being promoted. Afterwards, Wayne lee Sensei and our Karateka attended a social at the residence of Kevin Price Sensei and Janet Price Sanpai and a good time was had by all. NKA Seminar and Tournament:
Some members of the Trinity Shotokan Karate Club attended an NKA seminar and tournament at the Burin Peninsula Shotokan Karate Dojo in Burin Newfoundland and Labrador on October 22 and October 23, 2010. It was a great learning experience studying with the NKA Senior Dans. Three of our members who participated in the tournament performed admirable. George Hillyard, Shane Hillyard and Ryan Hillyard performed a demonstration of Team Kata. George received a Gold Medal for Seniors Individual Kata. Shane received a Gold Medal for ages 11 to 14 White to Orange Belt Individual Kata, and a Silver Medal for Kumite (free sparing). Ryan Hillyard received a Gold Medal for ages 7 to 10 White to Orange Belt Kumite, and a Bronze Medal for Kata. We are very proud of our competitors and congratulate them for bring home medals to our Dojo. Click HERE for more tournament photographs.

Yellow Belt Grading:
Sensei Kevin Price and Sanpai Janet Price on behalf of Sensei Bruce Lee, conducted a Yellow Belt grading on October 7, 2010 for Brad and Andrew Meadus. These gentlemen were away fishing with their family business during the July 8 grading and were graded as soon as they returned. Yellow Belt Grading:
Sensei Bruce Lee of Mundy Pond Shotokan Karate Dojo, NKA Director, conducted a Yellow Belt grading at the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo on July 8, 2010. All Karateka being graded performed exceptionally well and were promoted to Yellow Belt rank. After the grading there was a social at the residence of Sensei Kevin Price and Sanpai Janet Price. All Karateka young and old attended the social and a great time was had by all. The next day Sensei Bruce and his wife Ginok joined Kevin and Janet for a cruise on their cabin cruiser in Trinity Bay. It was a enjoyable two days and we look forward to many more in the coming months and years in our association with Sensei Bruce Lee and the NKA.

NKA Seminar:
A training seminar was conducted at the Trinity Shotokan Karate Club on June 19, 2010 by the senior Senseis of the Newfoundland Karate Association. It was a very successful event that provided rich enlightenment for all participants. Sensei Bruce Lee of the Mundy Pond Shotokan Dojo agreed the conduct a grading for all the Trinity Shotokan Karate Club students within a few weeks. Click HERE to view photos of the seminar.

Nine Karateka from the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo have attended the NKA seminar at the Freshwater Community Centre in in Placentia Bay Newfoundland and Labrador. There were Karateka from many Dojos trained by the many NKA senior instructors up to 6th Degree Black Belt. All Karateka thoroughly enjoyed the day and came away with fine tuned to a much higher degree. See Pictures on the Multimedia Page of this website.

We have been doing regular training at the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo for five more weeks and many of our Karateka will be attending the NKA seminar at the Freshwater Community Centre in in Placentia Bay Newfoundland and Labrador on April 24, 2010.

We now have completed our free month of training at the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo. There are eighteen full time Karateka who have registered with our Dojo and have memberships in the Newfoundland Karate Association (NKA). Our Karateka are progressing rapidly and are looking forward to an upcoming seminar with senior NKA members.
March 1
We now have completed half of our free month of training at the Trinity Shotokan Karate Dojo. All participants, children and adults are enjoying the training. At the end of our free month we will be inviting senior Newfoundland Karate Association members to our Dojo to teach a seminar and for us to demonstrate our progress.
