During the summer we held only one class per week and had a very active summer with most of our students attending classes. There were new students, some just for the summer and more full time. As of today the regular classes will commence until next June. We look forward to another year of great Karate at the Trinity Shotokan Dojo.

NKA Announcement:

Hello everyone,

This is to advise you that the senior instructors of the Newfoundland Karate Association, Senseis Paul Bell, David Bell, Ern Howell, Bruce Lee and Wayne Lee, will be holding a one day training seminar on Saturday, 19 June 2010 at the Community Centre in St. Jones Within, Trinity Bay. This is the location of our new Trinity Bay Shotokan Karate Club in St. Jones Within.

The seminar is open to both junior and adult students. The cost is $25. per person.

Training on Saturday morning will be for both junior and adult students and will run from 9:00 to 12:00 noon. The afternoon session will be for adults only and will run from 1:00 - 5:00 pm.

The focus of the seminar will be on kata and preparation for the Black Belt grading that will take place in August 2010. Those applying for their Black Belt in August should consider this seminar to be mandatory.

Local club members will be providing soup and sandwiches for lunch and a pot luck supper later on Saturday evening. There will be an appropriate fee charged for both meals.

For those of you considering spending either Friday and/or Saturday night in the area, we recommend making reservations at Clarenville Inn ( the old Holiday Inn).

If anyone requires further information about the seminar, please do not hesitate to contact me by return email or at telephone # 364-3049.

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the seminar. This will be a great opportunity to support our new club in St. Jones Within and at the same time participate in excellent training.
